Reasoned production
We design staple pieces and carefully select our materials so they withstand many seasons. Our shoes are produced in small runs and limited editions to avoid over-production and are regularly re-edited in different colors.
We carefully select our suppliers, and only work with partners who have a sustainable mindset.
Workshops - Our ateliers are small family-owned workshops who have been passing on their unique know-how from generation to generation.
Tanneries – The tanneries we work with are recognized for their remarkable yet innovative tanning methods, as well as their responsible commitments, especially regarding water recycling.
Responsible materials
We choose each material with intention and care in line with our durability and sustainabitily guidelines.
We prioritise:
- Upcycled or chrome-free leathers
- Organic and recycled cottons (back loop and packaging)
- Natural foams
UPCYCLING - As often as we can, we use left-overs from luxury brands rather than virgin leather, as a way to give a second life to incredible materials while limiting over-production.
CHROME-FREE LEATHER - Chrome-free or metal-free tanning are a more responsible way to transform leather, using less chemicals and thereby limiting pollution risks.
*What about vegan leather? Someday ... But to date, “vegan leathers” still rely on heavy chemical processing and contain a good amount of virgin plastic. They don’t make a solid alternative to traditional leather in our eyes.
Carbon offsetting
We aim to minimise our CO2 emissions wherever possible throughout our production process, by making better or more responsible choices (eg. sourcing locally & selecting more responsible materials)
We’re also committed to track our carbon footprint across our entire supply chain with the help of a third party – STAND FOR TREE. Together, we support forest protection projects that offset the same (or more) amount of CO2 emissions we release while making your shoes.
